ABOUT
The mission of Outreach Commission of the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection (ECOR)is to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and to practice the spirit of Christian giving. The Outreach Commission exists to help us as church reach beyond our own walls in sharing the good news and spirit of Christ to the world – locally, nationally, and internationally, and coordinating the outreach efforts of our church. The commission reviews requests for funds up to $500. Grants are for outside organizations, not individuals.
Requests for funding have been granted by the Outreach Commission include Mufindi Orphans, Inc., Tanzania, East Africa, Townhouse Recovery Home, Eugene, Oregon, the HIV Alliance of Lane County, Oregon, and the Center for Community Counseling, Eugene, Oregon.

THE FUNDING PROCESS
The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, through the Outreach Commission, makes grants (maximum of $500) to qualified organizations whose purpose is to reach out to those in need. The Outreach Commission meets to determine grant awards four times during the year: On the first Saturday of each January, April, July, and October. The deadline for submitting completed applications is one week prior to the Outreach Commission meeting.( If an emergency, the Commission may consider.)
FUNDING GUIDELINES
When evaluating a request the Outreach Commission will consider:
- If a local focus, does the request continue ECOR’s unique ministries. Examples of such ministries include the Thanksgiving baskets program, Christmas gifts, Shelter Week, Home Starter Kits, and weekly FISH baskets, and other areas of community need. However funding will not be granted for: tickets, sponsorship, events, fundraisers, endowment funds, political organizations, campaigns, candidates, individuals for personal use.
- The needs expressed in the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (listed below) as manifested on the local, national and international levels.

- Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger
- Achieve universal primary education
- Promote gender equality and empower women
- Reduce child mortality
- Improve maternal health
- Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases
- Ensure environmental sustainability
- Develop a global partnership for development
